British music producer Fraser T. Smith has worked with everyone from Adele to Sam Smith to the Kaiser Chiefs. Though he's been playing the guitar and writing songs since his teens, Fraser made the decision to study with Berklee Online so that he could solidify his production and songwriting skills while also picking up new skills such as the piano. Berklee Online allows Fraser to study on his own time from his home in England or on the road.
About Fraser T. Smith:
Fraser T. Smith grew up in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, UK. His musical career began when he won a scholarship to study at the West London Institute, which lead him to play both with bands and as a solo musician in pubs. Early on, he worked with Rick Wakeman (Yes), Adam Wakeman (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath), and Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet). In 1999, Smith began working with a then-unknown singer named Craig David. Smith became David's guitarist, joining David on numerous tours as his career took off.
In the years since, Smith has given up touring so that he can focus on writing and producing. In 2011, he co-wrote "Set Fire to the Rain" with British singer Adele. A live version of the song won a Grammy Award for Best Solo Pop Performance in 2013. Smith co-wrote "Not In That Way" with Sam Smith, a song that appeared on Sam Smith's chart topping album "In the Lonely Hour." Smith has also worked with the Kooks, Lily Allen, Kaiser Chiefs, the Wanted, Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora, Nelly Furtado, Leona Lewis, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Taio Cruz, and Florence and the Machine.
Smith has been studying songwriting, piano, keyboard, and production with Berklee Online since 2006.
