The Vikings: Raiders of the North

The late 8th century to the mid 11th century was a time of great upheaval and transformation in Europe and beyond. Western Rome fell, there was chaos on the political landscape, the Franks built their own empires, populations grew fast, Christianity was spreading.. In other words Europe was both exciting and chaotic at the same time. And then came the vikings, those seafarers of the North that stroke fear into the hearts of so many nations. But who were they? In this video, we'll explore the history, culture and legacy of the Vikings, who were much more than just raiders. So grab your helmet and sword, and let's set sail to the past.
