Jailbreak! Chasing Renegades On Pupa

June 13, 2020 - The crew was gathering the herd to brand the late calves, and as they were getting the last few in, several cows and calves broke back and had a little jailbreak. Pupa and I were behind the main crew, bringing in two pair when the jailbreak happened. One of the pairs we were pushing joined in, and they all headed for the hills. The rest of the crew was preoccupied on the top of the hill with the rest of the herd, so it was up to Pupa and I to hold the naughty critters. Pupa was a rockstar in holding it all together. With six clueless calves, and two very persistent mommas, it got a little interesting at times! The footage you see here was the second half of chasing reluctant cows and calves, as the first half was spent riding hard and would’ve made for even trashier footage. In the last couple clips we were joined by the rest of the crew to trail them the final stretch to the corrals, and Pupa was finally hobbled out to graze.
