Fall Harvest & Cook - Acorn and Mesquite

Primitive tribes in the southwest of the USA and northwest of Mexico harvested an abundance of many nutritious foods during the fall months preceding winter. Acorns were a major food source in the mountains and coastal area while mesquite was more abundant in the desert regions. In this video I use primitive methods to harvest ripe acorns, mesquite and toyon fruits from native trees and show one of several methods to process the acorns and make a nutritious acorn mush or soup.
