2019 Honda HR-V Sport First Drive: Surprisingly Punchy!
Hello guys, and welcome back to Car Obsession. A little earlier this year, I had a quick spin in the new Honda HR-V Sport, and here is what I thought of it. It's powered by a 1.5 litre VTEC turbo petrol, which produces 182hp along with 240Nm torque.
This can either be mated to a 6-speed manual or a CVT, of which I have the latter fitted in the model tested in this video. 0-62 is dealt with in a respectable 7.8 seconds, and the top speed is 134mph.
More concerned about fuel economy? If you go for the manual gearbox, you'll get combined MPG of up to 42.2, and if you go for the CVT, it falls to 38.2. In regard to emissions, the manual version emits 151g/km of CO2, whereas the CVT emits 163g/km.
The Sport starts from £27,840, offering standard features such as: 18” alloy wheels, double exhaust pipe, unique ‘Sport’ styling with tailgate spoiler, LED headlights, LED rear lights, half leather seats, heated front seats, performance dampers, dual zone climate control, reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, 7” Honda Connect system with Garmin navigation, Bluetooth, DAB radio, and smartphone connectivity, adaptive cruise control as well as a generous amount of safety features including autonomous emergency braking and lane departure warning.
