It’s hard not to like a shortcut and any sort of definitive “recipe” within the highly subjective and often nebulous world of drum sounds and tuning is often welcomed. Unfortunately, these methods can often lead people astray and even cause more frustration than they’re worth. In this episode we’re focusing on the idea of tuning a tom batter head for feel and the resonant head for tone and why that really doesn’t work.
