Washington Today (9-14-23): No House GOP gov't funding deal; Hunter Biden indicted on gun charges

Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) says the House will stay in session, starting next week, until the federal government funding issue is resolved. The deadline to prevent a government shutdown is September 30th. The Speaker is still at odds with conservative Republican members who are seeking further spending cuts and certain non-spending policy additions to any short term funding bill.

President Joe Biden gives speech on the economy in Largo, Maryland, not far from Washington, discussing the government funding standoff and contrasting his Bidenomics to what he calls the Republicans MAGAnomics].
