Grassington: Linton
Starting off from Grassington bridge we look up Station Road to the site of the former railway station. Then take the left turn at the Threshfield end of the bridge, following the Wharfe downstream, passing Threshfield Primary School (1674).
On the Wharfe we see the Hydro (1909 and restored 2012) and Linton Falls on the Lower Craven Fault. Beyond is the parish church for Linton, Hebden, Threshfield and Grassington.
The village of Linton is over a mile uphill from the church. It is set around a Green with Linton Beck flowing through it - four bridges cross this.
At the far side is the ornate Fountaine's Hospital - an almshouse - built in 1724.
