When it comes to becoming wealthy and financially successful, the middle class has heard the same thing over and over again. Work hard, get good grades, go to college, and get a good job. This video was inspired by Robert Kiyosaki. We've been reading his book, Rich Dad Poor Dad, and it has really opened our eyes to how we've been living.

We're taught this wealth success "formula" starting in grade 1, and while there isn't anything intrinsically wrong with any of these steps, there are many nuances left out. This strategy also rests on the foundational assumptions that risks and failure are bad things; they prevent you from becoming successful. This is absolutely not true.

Failure, which was etched into our minds as something we should avoid beginning at a young age, has created a fear in us that has led to us being stuck in the middle class. It's also led to many other mental road blocks that we believe have prevented us from getting out of the middle class and becoming wealthy.

1) The belief that we can't become wealthy on our own (that we need to get a job to earn money instead of creating it ourselves).
2) A desire for an unreasonable amount of security and certainty in our financial life.
3) The inability to think independently and creatively, because we’ve allowed other people to do it for us for so long.
4) The fear of risk.

You can definitely play things safe. We have been. The result of that is becoming wealthy over half a century and maybe, finally being able to retire at age 75. We want to be financially independent in 5-10 years. We can't play things safe anymore. Not to say that we're going to be unwise with our finances, but we'll be taking a lot more leaps of faith in the future with our money. No more middle class.
