93-year-old former state governor outlasts viaduct he helped design

Although the viaduct was a big piece of Seattle’s history, for one 93-year-old man it was much more than that.

Dan Evans was one of the designers of the two-mile long structure that stood as an alternative to the busy city streets and boasted impressive views of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains.

He also was the governor of Washington state three times.
