Get More Business with Searcher Intent. This means understanding how to get Quality leads or customers searching with the intent to buy your product.
Far too often business owners are focusing only on the quantity of traffic.
My video relates a true life experience and the 3 lessons I learnt back in 2006.

Every business owner wants to get more traffic to there website. Over many months now we have concentrated on how to get found in Google. Particularly using Google My Business to get found locally. This for many businesses has seen an increase in traffic.

But I also mention the need to think in terms of your customers. In many of my tutorials, I mention the searcher intent. Or make it easy for the customer to purchase.

What is Searchers intent?
In 2021 you will see its more important than ever.
Lets explain the dilemma – with the search term "orange". Well at this point
Google isn’t sure what your intent is, or how it relates to your query yet alone your business

I often talk about getting in the mind of your customers. But it's worth noting customers vary in intent.
You could have 2 businesses one with 100 customers a month and one with a thousand, but if the business with the 100 gets 10 good sales and the business with 1000 customers don’t get any sales which business makes sense. One isn’t actually a business any longer.
So the focus isn’t always about being number 1 or traffic. Google knows this. It has to be about the quality of the traffic and the buying intent.

I once had an online phone shop and for every phone sold I made around £15 commission
You can imagine this was back in the early 2000s when mobile phones were picking up huge momentum and complete smartphone ownership were just around the corner
But how could I get traffic to my site?
Advertise...and in those days you could use brand names in Google ads!

So simple maths. I could advertise specific Nokia, Sony or Blackberry phones for around £1 per click. Though you need to take into account not everyone was purchasing
So as long as at least 1 in 15 customers purchased I was in profit

The customer intent was very high around 1 in 5 purchased so it was a profitable setup. But it could of been far more efficient and this is the main point....

Many of my visiters were not clicking to but, their intent was elsewhere.

Lesson 1. Customer intent was found by looking at my analytics and looking at my keywords and understanding where they went and where they looked. I even ran crazy egg on the site to understand where they looked ( from Neil Patel) a heat map of where the customer looked and clicked etc

Lesson 2 the keywords revealed most of my customers by had no intention of buying. They had only been looking together information, so I was paying a pound to give them a description of the phone model. This taught me that not all traffic is potential customers and a need to adjust my process

Lesson 3: so what could be done to adjust and react into the facts and not what I wanted to believe. In this case the use of negative keywords. I used words like reviews, spec, and specifications size. If these were involved in the search term my advert didn't show. Suddenly this tripled my quality of traffic. The search intent was now of high quality. The clicks were now customers wanting to buy. Their search showed a buying intent. Sadly a few months later Google barred the use of branded phones and models in their adverts. It's a true lesson of adjusting and aiming for a customer with buying intent

Knowing the search intent is very important for success.
