I Get Tired- Uncle Kingsley (ORIGINAL SONG by Sam Popkin)

This is a song I wrote back in 2020 during the Covid lockdown. My band Uncle Kingsley consists of me and my fiancee Lily. It's from our 2021 album Out in the Shade https://unclekingsley.bandcamp.com/album/out-in-the-shade
I played all the instruments on the song, and Lily helped me flush out the lyrics. It's an expression of frustration towards the constant sensationalism of American news, the authoritarianism of our former president, and a confusion of where we are going in life.
The song is in the key of G sharp and includes complex chord changes inspired by George Harrison, Pink Floyd and Radiohead. I wrote it on my Stratocaster with a chorus pedal- my 1981 Boss CE-1, which I used to record the strat parts for this song. The lead guitar was played on my Les Paul, going into an Analogman Beano Treble Booster, a King of Tone pedal, then the Strymon Deco for some tape flanging
This video is sort of a music video, where I'm miming the parts two years after recording the actual song. I hope you enjoy it!
My Gear:
2005 Gibson Les Paul Standard
2022 Fender Custom Shop '63 Sonic Blue Stratocaster
*the original recording featured my 2012 AVRI Stratocaster
1978 Fender Precision Bass
Pearl Export Drum Kit
1980’s Hohner Pianet T
Neumann TLM-103
