Trunk Stability Push-Up Test

Goal
Can you plank?
Can you perform push-ups?

Scoring Criteria
0=Pain or not able to press from first position
1=Able to press from first position
2=Able to press from second position
3=Able to press from 3rd position

Push Test
Lay face down at the bottom of a pushup.
Men: Place the bottom of your palms in line with your chin to start.
Women: Place the bottom of your palms in line with your collarbone.
Engage your glutes and lift your knees off the ground.
Lift your elbows up high above your wrists.
Press up with a tight core.

Core Test
Get in a plank position with your elbows on the ground in line under your shoulders and your forearm pointed straight ahead with palms down.
Flex every single muscle in your body from your toes up through your eyebrows and old.
Stop when you lose core tightness.

Progressions
Men: if able to press from chin with no hitching move hands up to nose.
Men: if able to press from nose with no hitching move hands up to forehead.

Women: If able to press from collarbone with no hitching move hands up to chin
Women: if able to press from chin with no hitching move hands up to nose

If you hitch from the first position move your hands down to where you would normally do a pushup and perform the test
If unable to perform pushup start at the top of a pushup with straight arms and tight core and show a negative pushup as slowly as you can

How to film
Needed: Camera
Camera angle: Straight on from the side and above slightly angled down. (I need to see your shoulder blades, do not have the camera lower than you at the top position of the pushup.
