At-home COVID-19 test yields results in under ten minutes
CEO of Hough Pharma Greg Hough has given an example of his at-home COVID-19 test kit which yields results within ten minutes at a 98 per cent accuracy rate.
The testing kit was developed at Yale University and is approved in America and Europe, Mr Hough says they can produce 1,000,000 tests a day at a cost of roughly $8-10 apiece.
Sky News host Andrew Bolt says this test would make an enormous difference in Australia as some are waiting up to ten days for test results in Victoria while other parts of Australia are waiting a few days.
Mr Hough got in touch with the Victorian government and the health department, but was told he would not get a response to his enquiry for eight to ten weeks.
“Testing is the only way that we are going to get this virus under control,” Mr Hough said.
“With these tests we can open up the world.”
