“Water For A Buck,” was released on August 29, 2025 as a single on YouTube. The song was musically composed by Dad, Mom, and Sunflower Hawkbird, with lyrics written by Dad. This was inspired by a real experience that we had during one of the hottest, most humid days of the summer in New York City. The heavy, dynamic track captures our journey down Delancey Street on our way to Tompkins Square Park to meet some friends. Sweating and thirsty… but strangely, not a single street vendor selling water crossed our path. Anyone who knows NYC in the summer, knows about the locals with coolers offering ice-cold water bottles for a buck. But that day, we were not fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time to grab a water for a dollar. It was sticky, hot, and dry…. Our friends were late, and we waited patiently, but thirsty.Once they showed up, everything changed…. The heat didn’t matter anymore. We laughed about it, got some drinks, and had a blast!
(For those outside the United States, 1 ‘buck’ = 1 US dollar... It’s a good price for a bottle of water!)

🧸 Brown Bear, always safe in my backpack, definitely felt the heat as we walked through the city. The sun was blazing down, and the sidewalk felt like it was melting my Crocs as we made our way down Delancey Street. The air was thick and sticky, and with no one selling water in sight, every block felt longer than the last. Even though we were sweating and tired, Brown Bear stayed his usual happy self, quietly humming along, never complaining. Once we got to Tompkins Square Park and found some shade under a tree, things felt a little better… but through it all, Brown Bear was there, keeping me calm and comforted, just by being soft, furry, and supportive. ☀️ 🧸 ❤️

This song, was recorded on August 23, 2025, in our basement studio on 6 separate tracks, using a Zoom H6 audio interface, which was then mixed in GarageBand:
1. Vocals (Audix OM5 Hypercardioid Dynamic Microphones)
2. Lead guitar (Gibson Les Paul Studio) & amp (Marshall Valvestate 2000) w/pedal (Boss ME-80)
3. Bass guitar (Ibanez miKro) & amp (Fender Rumble 40)
4. Bass drum (Ludwig Neusonic 22” Bass Drum)
5. Toms/snare (Ludwig 13" Tom, 16" Floor Tom, and 14” Snare)
6. Cymbals (Zildjian A Custom Cymbals)
*The drums were recorded using an overhead stereo pair of sE Electronics sE8 condenser microphones, complemented by an Audix D6 cardioid dynamic microphone for the kick drum.
To ensure a precise balance and bring out the nuances of each instrument, we relied on Sennheiser HD-660S2 headphones paired with an AudioEngine DAC3 amplifier during the mastering process. Given the small size of our studio and the inherent challenge of the drums' volume, we are continually working to achieve the best possible sound. We truly appreciate all of your feedback, which plays a crucial role in refining our work. Please keep the comments coming… every suggestion helps!
