Thom Khem Recipe | Caramelized Pork Stew | Lao Food at Saeng’s Kitchen #thomkhem #laofood

This is my thom khem recipe. Thom means to boil and khem means salt. A Lao soup made of hard boiled eggs and pork belly. This dish uses caramelized sugar with splashes of fish sauce while the pork belly and egg soak up all the sweet and savory flavors. It's a delicious dish paired perfectly with a side of freshly made rice. This is the ultimate comfort meal.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp crushes garlic
2 tbsp ginger minced
3 slices Slices of ginger or galangal
1 pound pork sirloin
2 cup water
1 tbsp seasoning sauce
4 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp sweet soy sauce
6 hard boiled eggs
