The Port of San Diego and the City of Chula Vista broke ground last week on a $15 million expansion

The Port of San Diego and the City of Chula Vista broke ground last week on a $15 million expansion of Harbor Park, the bayfront park formerly known as Bayside Park. The project will add a nautical-themed playground, splash pad, accessible pathways, new landscaping and a new park entrance at the park’s southern end. When complete, the improvements will nearly double Harbor Park’s size—from about 12 acres to roughly 25 acres—as part of a broader effort to redevelop the bayfront into a regional destination. The phased expansion aims to enhance family recreation and public access along the Chula Vista waterfront.
