Ben BERNIE and His Hotel Roosevelt Orchestra – There’s A Cradle In Caroline, Fox-Trot (Lewis-Young-Ahlert) Brunswick (recorded in NYC in 1927, pressed in Germany in 1928).

Ben BERNIE (born 1891 as Benjamin Anselevitz in NYC – died 1943 in Hollywood, CA) was an American dance bandleader, violinist & composer ("Sweet Georgia Brown"), he was educated at the NY College of Music and started his career as violin seller in New York department store. Bernie organized his own orchestra in 1922, playing a long engagement at the Hotel Roosevelt in New York, then toured Europe. He toured with Maurice Chevalier, and was featured on radio for twenty years. This rendition has two versions: one with vocal refrain sung by Vaughn De Leath (sold in the US) and an instrumental take for the European market (records with the green label, which were pressed in Germany).
