15 Times Animals Messed With Wrong Hyena
Messing with hyenas is never easy, even for lions, but these scavengers are always on the lookout for a meal, so most animals always need to be on guard, or they could become the scavengers’ next meal. If you want to see hyenas in action, stick around because we’re getting started.

Hyena Attack And Eat Warthog Alive
A male leopard had captured a warthog in this gruesome scene, but when the clan arrives minutes later, the leopard releases its prey and flees. The hyenas take control, and you can hear the warthog squealing in the video, indicating that things do not improve with the new babysitters. This hyena is tearing meat out of this warthog’s body while it’s still alive as if it’s mozzarella cheese. It’s incredible that the warthog hasn’t fainted yet because of the excruciating pain. Perhaps, he’s numb and doesn’t feel anything anymore, but I just can’t get over how the hyena pulls meat out of the warthog’s body.
We usually see lions pull warthogs out of their dens because of their immense strength, but guess what, it seems like hyenas can do it just as well. A wildlife enthusiast spotted a hyena heading his way, jogging after a small warthog - coming right by his car, meters away. The warthog darted into a tunnel and raced through, stopping on the other side as the hyena chased and caught it, chewed on its leg, before ripping it's head off. These hyenas want to get at a young warthog, but mom is there to help. Unfortunately, there are too many scavengers, and she can’t save her offspring.
Hyena Eating Wildebeest Alive
The plains are suffering a terrible drought, and the large herds of wildebeest - the hyenas’ favored prey - are still far to the north. The queen faces an enormous challenge: how to keep her cubs alive and find food for the entire family. Driven by hunger, she makes a brave decision and forms a hunting party to head north in search of prey. In the midday sun, the hunt fails, and the queen almost succumbs to the intense heat. Even for hyenas, living in the bush is no cakewalk.
This wildebeest already has a gaping hole on the side of its body, and the hyenas target this area to make it worse, until the animal crumbles to the ground, so they can eat it, which is eventually what happens. Even the vultures knew the outcome of this battle before it began. These spotted hyenas belong to one of the study clans that the MSU hyena project in the Maasai Mara Reserve has monitored year-round since 1989. They can be seen feasting on a wildebeest while the animal is still alive, but that’s the way hyenas roll.
Surprisingly enough, the wildebeest manages to get up at some point and tries to escape, but the hyenas just keep eating it, even while it’s standing. This wildebeest shows a display of immense strength as it manages to pull two hyenas latched on its body onto the road to try and get away. It probably won’t get away, but pulling two animals like this is an incredible feat. In this video, you must close your eyes if you have a difficult time watching gory and graphic stuff. This poor wildebeest trying to run away has most of its bowels hanging out of its body and is still standing. It’s painful to watch, but I guess this is an everyday occurrence in the Masai Mara.
