2021-01-11 Xiao Qi Ji ~ Not Momma's Ears!

Day 143 #PandaStory: Sunday evening with Xiao Qi Ji and momma Mei Xiang ...

Around 8pm Mei Xiang was eating bamboo propped up against room 3's playpen, when out popped Qi Ji ... and he figured out how to use the playpen ledge to get up to Mei's head. She kept trying to shake him off, but he was persistent. So Mei's answer was to quit eating and once again play with her cub. One of the perks of watching these two together, moreso than any other cub I've followed, is to discover just how much Mei Xiang is playing with Xiao Qi Ji!

Once the battle ground moved to the den, Qi Ji uses the den door as a shield from momma, and it emboldens him! Round 1 finishes, but then Mei returns around 10pm to pull him to the den doorway for possibly some grooming. And while the last image is hard to make out, it's the very 1st time I've seen them fall asleep together in the den doorway ... Qi Ji's rump on the left, and momma Mei's head on the right!
