History's last duel was in 1967 in Paris. Two French politicians got rather mad at one another and after one refused to apologise, the other challenged him to a duel. History's last duel was not nearly as epic as those that came before it. It was not to the death because one of the participants was getting married the next day and he thought that dying over an insult might be a bit much. It was a perfectly proportionate response to have the duel though, of course. History's last duel is really quite hilarious.
