Unsettling Desires Old House 4
Unsettling Desires Old House 4
I woke up, drenched in sweat, heart racing. That night, I urgently called for my parents, shaken by the haunting experience.
Fortunately, that nightmarish episode was the sole significant nightmare I experienced in that house. While a few unsettling dreams followed, they lacked the ominous presence of that dark entity. It became increasingly evident that misfortune had taken root in that house. Restless nights persisted, accompanied by strange noises, yet the full extent of the sounds in the walls, as mentioned by my friend, remained elusive to me. It felt as if something sought my company without my awareness. By this point, I wholeheartedly believed the house was haunted, a belief that held true from the very beginning of our occupancy. The distinction lay in the entities present: one, a harmless resident from the house's origin, and the other, a malevolent predator.
One morning, I woke to find one of the army men on my shelf. Neither I nor my friend had taken it out, and Mom wouldn't have bothered. Assuming Dad had placed it there, I questioned him, only to be met with a confused denial. The unsettling events continued, culminating in another disconcerting dream. This time, the same boy appeared, tears streaming down his pale face, looking sleep-deprived with bloodshot eyes. He stared directly at me, his weak voice conveying, "I gave you nothing." A peculiar, indescribable sound intensified as the boy continuously faded. His final words echoed, "Don't – don't let this happen to you," before vanishing completely. The dream either concluded there, or my memory failed to capture subsequent details. Even at the tender age of eight, I understood the boy's message, and it resonated with a sense of impending doom.
As my family improved, my parents decided it was time to return to our old house. Leaving the army man behind, I hoped my concerns would dissipate. Our actual home, a somewhat rundown trailer house, had no unnatural occurrences, except for a previous site that had burned down. As far as we knew, no one had perished in the fire, and our current house had no dark history hinting at anything extraordinary. However, I unwittingly brought something back with me, and as you're aware, it certainly wasn't that army man.
Upon returning to our old house, everything seemed to align with my expectations. There were no terrifying occurrences, and my concerns shifted towards my parents reverting to their irritable selves. They had never been fond of the house, but financial constraints kept us there. Most of my time was spent either outdoors or in my room, and I had already pushed the unsettling events from the rented house out of my mind. However, subtle changes began manifesting within me. Falling asleep became an arduous task; I'd lie awake for hours, not out of fear but due to an unexplainable restlessness. While I had faced challenges in sleeping after watching scary movies with my family, this experience was distinct.
