Rod Liddle: Police taking a knee "encourages animosity and the feeling of victimisation"
Rod Liddle, associate editor at The Spectator, has told talkRADIO that he thinks police officers taking a knee has encouraged animosity "and the feeling of victimisation amongst communities which may have contributed to disturbances in Brixton last night.
Mr Liddle criticised Chief constables who he said had allowed an untenable situation to go on for too long, citing police officers "dancing with the extinction rebellion protesters" and recent events as a sign of police only wanting to "make people feel comfortable in their environments" rather than "fighting crime".
He said "political correctness" is making the police's job too difficult and also criticised the BBC for what he believed was "a politically driven agenda".
