Jaguars of the Pantanal | Birds and Wildlife at Porto Jofre | Mato Grosso Brazil 2023 | 4K-Video

The Jaguar is the largest predetor in South America and the Pantanal is home to around 5000 individuals. Jaguars hunt caimans and capybaras, which are also abundant in the Pantanal. We spotted nine different jaguars, which we could identify with the help of the Jaguar Identification Project. The Pantanal in Brazil, the worlds largest tropical wetland area and the Parque Estadual Encontro das Águas is best explored from Porto Jofre at the end of the 147 km long Transpantaneira. Every day we went by boat on the Cuiabá, Piquiri and São Lourenço river searching for jaguars, birds and other wildlife. Yacare caiman, giant otter and capybaras are swimming in the water. The Pantanal is home to over 600 different species of birds, of which we saw around 60. The highlight of our trip where jaguar hunting for cayman and two jaguars mating.
