CBS Network - Phyllis - "The Christmas Party" - KNXT Channel 2 (Complete Broadcast, 12/20/1976) 📺

Here's the complete broadcast of a first-run airing of an episode of Phyllis ("The Christmas Party"), with original commercials, as broadcast over Los Angeles station KNXT (now KCBS) Channel 2.

It should be noted that, despite the prevalence of 5 kHz telco audio for network feeds at the time, the show aired here with 15 kHz sound, indicating KNXT and/or CBS' West Coast operations had their own copies of these shows for network airing in the Pacific time zone (as aired over WBBM Channel 2, these shows would have had the lower quality audio, coming via New York and WCBS Channel 2).

Includes:

'2LA' animated ID and promo for 11:00pm news (voiceover by ??)

Phyllis opening titles and Act I

Commercials for:

Cool Whip topping (Grandma's cake)

Cherry Jell-O - Christmas hints (ending voiceover by Peter Thomas)

Promo for M*A*S*H (voiceover by ??)

About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:

The MCCTv (FuzzyMemoriesTV) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s to early 80s, mostly) recorded off of TV (in Chicago or other cities now too); things which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. If you have any old 1970s videotapes recorded off of TV please email: tapes@fuzzy.tv Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical preservation. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or lend tapes to be converted to digital, please e-mail tapes@fuzzy.tv Thank you for your help!
