Thai protesters were met with tear gas and rubber bullets in clashes with police in the capital Bangkok on August 7, 2021. Protesters are calling for Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha to quit over the government’s sluggish roll-out of Covid-19 vaccines amid Thailand’s worst coronavirus outbreak. They are also demanding a change in the country’s vaccination programme by switching to mRNA vaccines.
