Purge plays Alch carry

Alchemist is pretty effective as a 1 position hero at the moment. Most Carries don't have much lane pressure, so while Alchemist can't cover his allies very well, he can get okay enough levels and transition to jungling like most carries already do. It also helps that Battlefury is really simple buildup with damage and regen, and that buffs to acid spray mean that clearing jungle is really easy.

Battlefury is almost always the best damage and farming item to purchase because it accellerates you more easily than Rad, in addition to the fact that cleave damage is reduced by armor, making your aoe -armor ability, acid spray, more effective for clearing neutral camps.

After Battlefury you should generally get an SnY because it enhances the HP regen from your ultimate, and gives you status resistance, making it easier to fight.

After SnY, you should almost certainly purchase a ganking item to start using your networth to score kills on the map. In previous games I've done Shadow Blade, but Blink likely works much better, especially because Blink can now be upgraded in the ultra late game.
