The Americans - Robert Frank mini review

The Americans is a milestone in photography. Frank takes a radical move away from the standards of the time. Unlike Cartier-Bresson and his decisive moment Frank instead begins making a heavy socio-psychological shift. His book is not well received on release. Critics did not like, or perhaps felt too closely the undercurrents of America at the time. Frank lays bare this great nation in an essay that is both beautiful and poignant.
