NOW SOLD - Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9 Phase 1 with 66158 miles at Woldside Classic & Sports Car.

Like the Golf GTI, Renault 5 Turbo and several other competitors, the Peugeot 205 GTi obtained cult status during the 80s and 90s. Produced from 1984 with both 1.6ltr and 1.9ltr engines available, the car was discontinued in 1994 following poor sales of hot hatches caused by escalating insurance costs due to theft and "joy riding" in the early 1990's. The 205 GTi now has a strong following as a classic hot hatch.
The car we are pleased to offer is a rare Phase 1 1.9ltr model produced for 1987 only. Finished in Silver metallic, our low mileage car retains the rare features of the Phase 1 cars only, these include the sliding heater controls, the Philips 533 radio cassette, the door cards with red carpet to match the carpets and the squared off rear spoiler. The car also has grey half leather seats with the contrast red stitching and the optional sliding glass sunroof with interior blind.

Registered in the UK in January 1987 our car has covered just 66,000 miles from new backed up with service history and MOTs. The paintwork on the car is in a lovely condition and it is mainly original other than a couple of small re freshed areas, These cars are galvanised from new but still suffered from corrosion, thankfully, our car has not suffered in this way and the floor areas are remarkably nice. Inside the car, the original dark grey/silver seats are firm and show only the slightest patina to the drivers bolster. The carpets are also all original and in great condition with overmats fitted.

With the car are the spare keys and alarm fobs, the service history file and also the original handbook pouch which has the service and handbooks, Philips radio instruction book and the original owners warranty card.

Good, original, un messed with 205 GTis are becoming increasingly collectable and hard to find. This rare Phase 1 car has recently been serviced with the cambelt and water pump replaced.
