Phoenix Police Fatally Shoot Armed Man Who Broke Into Women's House

PHOENIX, ARIZONA - The Phoenix police department released body cam footage of an incident where Phoenix police fatally shoot armed man who broke into women's house.

On February 06, 2021, Phoenix police officers responded to a call of an armed man in the backyard of a woman's home near 43rd Avenue and Cactus Road. While on the phone with 911, the woman told police that she was hiding and that the suspect was inside her home.

When officers arrived on scene, they were able to evacuate the woman out of one of the home’s windows. Officers then went to the back of the home and positioned themselves behind a block wall. One officer saw the 29-year-old suspect who was armed with a gun, exit from the Arcadia door and go into the backyard. The officer gave him commands to drop the gun, but he refused and and told the officer to shoot him as he raised his gun toward the officer. The officer then fired one round that struck and killed the suspect.
