Around 25,000 Dutch volunteers fought for Germany during World War II on the Eastern Front. How were Dutch volunteers recruited for the Waffen-SS? What was the role of the Dutch collaborating party – the NSB – in all this? What was the role of Anton Mussert, Meinoud Rost van Toningen and Hendrik Seyffardt in the Netherlands during WW2? Dutch volunteers for axis service were put in these three formations: Standarte Westland (Wiking Division), Dutch Volunteer Legion (Vrijwilligerslegion Nederland) and the Landstorm.
