When visiting Yellowstone National Park or moving to surrounding areas, there are a few things locals wish you knew as you become a temporary local for your vacation time — or as you become a full time local living here.

❄️ Be friendly and say hello to others on the trail.

❄️ Kindly let others know you are approaching from behind and step off the trail and allow others to pass when you are taking a break.

❄️ Don’t walk or snowshoe in set ski trails.

❄️ Give wildlife a wide berth! Winter is tough and having to move out of your way (or attack you) expends energy they don’t have.
