Mary and Nancy Burns - Nutter Family - Interview
Mary and Nancy Burns of the Nutter Family relay the story of three generations of their family who came to live and love the Manitowish Waters region. John W. Nutter and his wife Anne Nutter were both raised on farms in the Ringle, Wisconsin area. At the age of 14 John W. moved to Manitowish and began to work for the Buck’s, both at the Divide and Spider Lake resorts. He was a logger, ran a half-way house stop in Spider Lake, had built a Lumber Mill and Hotel in Spirit Falls, Wisconsin. He and his wife worked to create a family and legacy here along the Manitowish River. Listen to the stories of this family of the Northwoods.
