Tropical Storm Gonzalo has gotten stronger than it was at yesterday's update, and now has maximum winds of 65mph, near hurricane strength. Gonzalo is currently expected to continue strengthening and attain hurricane strength winds within the next 24 hours. However, the intensity forecast is highly unclear at this time as dry air is inhibiting the storm, and small storms are prone to rapid fluctuations in intensity. Regardless, hurricane watches have been issued for parts of the Windward Islands, and all interests in the region need to monitor the development of Tropical Storm Gonzalo closely over the next several days.
