Tropical Storm Gonzalo and Hurricane Douglas continue to intensify

Douglas became the Eastern Pacific's first hurricane of the year earlier today, and is significantly intensifying, possibly at a rapid rate. The storm is expected to peak as a major hurricane late this week before approaching Hawaii, where it could land as a minimal hurricane or strong tropical storm at the end of the weekend.

Tropical Storm Gonzalo is also intensifying, and is now likely to become the Atlantic's first hurricane of the year. The storm poses a threat to the Windward Islands, Barbados, and potentially other Caribbean Islands later on next week.
