Aeroelasticity - or why aircraft are flexible - Fero Andersen at DLR
Travelling by plane is just a common thing. But during a flight things happen which passengers don´t perceive.
The wings for example are bending quiet frequently about many centimeters.
What might happen if a plane had stiff wings and not flexible ones?
And why have planes flexible wings?
Once airborne there are strong forces interacting to the body and the wings.
This shows very clearly a flight with the research aircraft HALO.
