Queensland LNP following Victorian Liberals model of ‘mediocrity’ and ‘craziness’

Sky News host Rita Panahi warns the Queensland LNP is following the Victorian Liberals model of “mediocrity” and “craziness” after backing Labor’s emissions targets.

The Miles Labor Government passed new laws locking in 80 per cent renewable energy generation by 2035.

The laws legislate emissions reduction targets of 30 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030, 75 per cent below by 2035 and net zero by 2050.

Ms Panahi said Queensland is a “conservative state” which is highly dependent on fossil fuels.

“To have both parties, both major options go with this policy – really?” she said.
