Motorizing the Mill Wheel and Adding Lights- Rebuilding the 1/2" scale mill by Mountains in Minutes

Today we are replacing and motorizing the mill wheel and installing incandescent lights and a flickering LED to the Gardner Brothers Mill in Cañón Grande on the model railroad.

First the mill wheel. The original mill wheel was a urethane foam casting. While the pattern model was great, the casting didn't seem like something we wanted to dress up and use. So we were off to eBay to look for a replacement mill wheel. AND we found a great one! For $10.
