Modeling small pine trees in large (or small) scales

We are adding small trees to our "F scale" logging railroad by reworking "bottle brush" trees into plausible small young trees. But with a bit of extra trimming, these can be full-sized trees in smaller scales, even "N" scale.

We are almost ready to hang the logging shelf railroad on the wall. Among the missing details are small trees and other undergrowth as well as finishing the backdrop, installing the sound system and figures!

We bought 45 wire trees from Amazon.com.

These can be reworked into good-looking trees with a bit of thinning and added foliage. In our large scale, these are only 3 to 5 feet tall "baby" trees. And look great as part of the ferns and grasses under the tall old trees.
