HOW TO: Wrap ANY gift without sticky tape! – The Body Shop
Here’s a clever and creative hack to wrap ANY gift this Christmas, no matter how oddly shaped. No sticky tape required!
Around Christmas, we get through a LOT of sticky tape. It all ends up in landfill, and takes a long time to break down. That’s why we’ve put together a brilliant upcycling hack to help you whizz through your Christmas present wrapping, without any sticky tape at all. We’ve got three options for you, and they even work on those odd shaped gifts that seem impossible to wrap…
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- A gift like The Body Shop manicure set
- A gift like The Body Shop Body Butter
- The Body Shop paper bags
- Ribbon
- Hole punch
- Scissors
HOW TO WRAP AN ODD SHAPED GIFT:
1. Fold the paper bag so that it sits flat.
2. Using a pencil, draw a semi-circle approximately 20cm from the bottom of the bag to the top, in the centre.
3. Cut along this line. Make sure you cut both sides of the bag!
4. Using a hole punch, make around eight holes along the top of the bag.
5. Pop your present inside the bag.
6. Take your ribbon and starting in the centre of the bag, weave in and out of the holes on both sides of the bag, so it’s secure. Make sure both ends meet in the middle, and tie a bow. You’re done!
HOW TO WRAP A BODY BUTTER:
1. Cut the sides of a medium-sized paper bag and open so that it lays flat.
2. You’ll be using the bottom of the bag, as well as three sides. Measure out 11cm for the base, and 18cm on all four sides. You should have a piece of paper that looks like a cross.
3. Now fold the edges of all four sides in, to make a triangle. With your hole punch, put a hole around 3cm from the top.
4. Open up the flaps on each side. Place your Body Butter inside. (Top tip: wrap it in tissue paper first!)
5. Weave your ribbon in and out of the holes and tie a knot on top, leaving a space of around 5cm. Tie in another knot, about 10cm above, so you can hang it on a Christmas tree. Alternatively, tie in a bow.
HOW TO WRAP A SQUARE GIFT
1. Cut a large square (big enough to cover your gift) from your paper bag.
2. Fold over the top corner so that it covers the gift, then carefully fold over two more corners, leaving one free.
3. Tuck in the remaining corner into the fold.
4. Secure with a pretty ribbon!
