▶ About this video: This video shows you how to turn off the feature that replaces web or email addresses typed in Microsoft Word into hyperlinks.

This feature can be disabled in all modern versions of Word including Word 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016. The video covers the steps on a Word 2016 running on Windows however these steps are similar for all versions of Word 2007 and later. Steps for Word 2003 are however also included.

To disable the feature go to Word Options - Proofing - AutoCorrect Options and select the AutoFormat As You Type tab then uncheck the option Internet and network paths with hyperlinks.
