Lesser known Brilliant Voice of the past: A. Van Noordt - Fantasia in d minor - Wim Winters (1999)

With Antonie van Noordt (ca 1619 - 1675), we can just connect to the great J.P.Sweelinck, who died when van Noordt had the impressive age of 2. His music is, as all organ music after Sweelinck, heavily influenced by Jan Pieterszoon's phenomenal compositions. van Noordt is connected to the Sweelinck family by being the successor in 1664 of Dirk Janszoon Sweelinck, son of Jan Pieterssoon, as organist of the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam.

You'll hear me play the 1521 organ at Oosthuizen in the semi-finals of the 1999 (!) Schnitger competition.
