Joy in Shai-Osudoku as Fiakonya Shooters FC Climbs to Division Two

There was massive celebration and excitement in Fiakonya within the Shai-Osudoku Constituency as Fiakonya Shooters FC officially secured qualification from Division Three to Division Two after an impressive and successful league campaign.

The historic achievement marks a major milestone for the club, which will now represent the entire Dangbe West area in the Division Two League.

To commemorate the qualification, a colorful ceremony and friendly football match were organized in Fiakonya, drawing football lovers, chiefs, queen mothers, youth groups, and community members who gathered to celebrate the team’s success.

The atmosphere was filled with jubilation, music, dancing, and words of encouragement as the community praised the players and technical team for their dedication and determination throughout the season.

Speaking in an interview, the coach of Fiakonya Shooters FC expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku and Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Akwele Ocloo, for her continuous support toward the club. According to him, the Minister has consistently supported the team, including helping maintain and level their football park to ensure a conducive environment for training and matches.

He further appealed for more support from stakeholders, emphasizing that the district is blessed with enormous football talent capable of achieving greater heights when given the needed opportunities.

The coach also urged society not to underestimate sports and talents, stressing that success is not achieved through academics alone, but also through skills and sporting excellence.

In a separate interview, the Football Association Chairman within the district also congratulated the team and appealed to individuals, corporate bodies, and authorities to support the club as they prepare for life in Division Two.

The qualification of Fiakonya Shooters FC has been widely described as a proud moment for Shai-Osudoku, with many hopeful that the club’s success story will inspire more young talents across the district.
