French Suite No. 3 in B minor, BWV 814
Originally I was going to perform this piece at a recital in June, but unfortunately I won't be able to attend. Please note there are significant discrepancies between the score shown in this video and what I actually played based on the Henle 1972 edition:
- In the Courante, the beaming in the Henle edition suggests shift of meter from 6/4 to 3/2 in several bars.
- The Anglaise comes before the Menuet.
- Different notes/voicings throughout.
Furthermore, b.22 of the Sarabande is different in the Henle 2017 edition (Schiff's performance is based on that). I'm more used to the 1972 edition.
