Recitative and aria for alto. Bagge's transcription of the recitative is especially challenging in terms of voicing. It is amazing how Bach can turn a lively dance-like rhythm into poignant music. The dotted rhythm will be deployed in the next two arias as well, but each has its own texture and character. On average, the technical difficulty just keeps increasing from this point on.
