Ep. 207 - Stubborn Bison | Cow Struggling | Health Concerns Force Us To Do This...

One of our bison cows is really struggling. Her vaginal prolapse has returned and gotten too bad. The bison herd doesn't want her to go but as a bison rancher you have to make the hard decisions. We loaded up the cow, with difficulty and made the long drive to the processor.

Here on Blackacre Ranch we are city folk who moved to the country to start ranching bison (i.e. buffalo). We are a family with 6 kids. Our goals are to homestead the property, grow healthy food, and build good character along the way. We are new to homesteading and don't know much about it, but we are willing to share our struggles and journey as we learn how to homestead together. Think of this as homesteading for beginners where we are the beginners.

We are converting an old rundown church camp into a first generation ranch...profitable ranch that is. It's a whole new life and we are sharing it with you. We are prepping for larger animals such as bison, highland cattle, pigs and chickens.
