RASAMASA TEMPEH TERIYAKI
RECIPE
Rasamasa choose to use biodynamic and organic ingredients in all recipes. Biodynamic and organic farming is the way to build healthy soil and preserve the environment for our future generations.
Teriyaki tempeh
Organic ingredients
200g tempeh
2 tsp toasted sesame seeds, for garnishing
Teriyaki glaze:
1/3 cup water
4 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp coconut nectar
1 tsp blackstrap molasses
2 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tsp toasted sesame oil
2 tsp grated ginger
2 tsp minced garlic
1 tbsp arrow root powder
Directions
1. Divide each piece of tempeh into 3 portions, slice each portion of the tempeh into thinner size.
2. Pan fry tempeh in heated cooking oil until it is slightly brown on both sides. Remove and put aside.
3. In a pan, pour in sesame oil followed by garlic and ginger. Sauté the garlic and ginger over high heat. After done sautéed, turn down the heat to medium.
4. Mix all wet ingredients except the arrow root powder and pour into the pan. Bring to boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Turn down the heat from medium to low.
5. Mix arrow root powder with 2 tbsp of cool water to make it slurry and add to the teriyaki mixture. Stir to blend in well. Simmer until the sauce is thicken.
6. Add in pan fried tempeh to coat with the teriyaki sauce on both sides.
7. Lay out the teriyaki tempeh on a plate and sprinkle with toasted white sesame seeds.
8. Teriyaki tempeh is ready to be served with rice or use as burger patties.
