Get rid of “maskne” (fungal acne) || Head & Shoulders face mask

Here I show you how to get rid of maskne (mask acne) with a Head & Shoulders face mask. Yes, you read that right - the anti dandruff shampoo gets rid of acne!

Do you find when you wear your face mask for the whole day, your cheeks and chin become itchy? Perhaps small pimples appear in the masses along with whiteheads and skin irritation. This might well be fungal acne. A fungus (or yeast) is built up from the moist environment caused by warmth and sweat of your mask and the constant friction causes further irritation.

How does this skin hack treatment help with acne? - Dandruff is caused by a fungus that feeds on excess oil on your scalp. Head & Shoulders contains a chemical called Pyrithione Zinc and Selenium Sulfide which is what helps reduce the levels of fungus.

Alongside the head and shoulders mask, you will also need to switch up your face wash with a cleanser containing salicylic acid and an oil free moisturizer. Be sure to avoid any oil based products throughout the duration of this fungal acne treatment. Also on the days you are feeling extra raw, swap your cleanser with one containing green tea extracts. This will help cool down your face whilst also clearing those blemishes.
