Tropical Weather Bulletin - November 12, 2023

Several tropical disturbances are looking better today, with one in the western Pacific possibly showing signs of cyclone genesis as it moves through Micronesia.

A second area of interest further east in the Pacific could also form later in the week as it passes south of Guam and makes for the Philippine islands, possibly as a powerful typhoon.

In the South Pacific, models have surprisingly converged for a potential tropical storm or hurricane to drift towards Fiji later in the week, after previously being dropped by most major models in the last few days. Strong winds are likely to affect the main islands, and a landfall directly over Nadi cannot be ruled out.

In the North Indian Ocean, an area of interest is also looking more likely to develop near the Andaman islands in the Bay of Bengal, and could approach hurricane status as it heads towards the Ganges river delta in Bangladesh.

Another area of interest in the Atlantic could still develop in the Caribbean later in the week, with a major rain threat beginning to loom for Central America, and potential implications over Jamaica and Haiti late in the week.
