Now, here's a Quick Story

Betty has been a patient for over a year. She's a spry 80-year-old who has a very magnetic quality to her personality. Her attitude, her posture, her choice of words...

Her energy. It's quite attractive.

Betty lives in a senior community. And her husband lives in the nursing home right around the way. Her husband has dementia and is non-ambulatory. The majority of her physical pain was a result of pushing his wheelchair around the grounds.

In the covid era, Betty could not visit her husband.

Her physical condition was only slightly better as a result.

Last week she came for her monthly treatment. I walked into the room and saw "the look" on her face.

Without even thinking, or having restraint of any kind, I blurted out...

"your husband"

Betty responded sobbing, but with dignity and elegance and said "he passed away last week."

We exchanged various energetic and culturally appropriate gestures.

Then she laid down on the table.

And when I put my hands on her spine...

It was more relaxed than I have ever felt before.
